The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 2 general election is Monday.
"The best thing to do is come by our office," said George Matthews, Victoria County elections administrator. His office is at 111 N. Glass St. and will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Monday.
No identification is required to apply. But Matthews said the registration card asks for a driver's license number or the last four digits of the Social Security number.
"You could call us and we could mail you an application," Matthews said. "But then you're taking a chance on whether the Postal Service will deliver the application and you can get it back in the mail to us."
An application returned by mail must be postmarked Oct. 4. Matthews said the problem is the Postal Service doesn't always postmark the cards, which may make it difficult to determine if applicants met the deadline..
Early voting in person begins Oct. 18 and continues through Oct. 29.
