The Friends of Texas Kickin' Bull Riding will host the 11th annual bull riding event Friday and Saturday.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association-sanctioned event features bull riding, mutton busting and dancing.

Proceeds from the event will be handled by The Friends of the Texas Kickin' Bull Riding but will be earmarked for the West High School dance team.

"We're doing it for the girls," said Shannon Evans, a member of the Friends and drill team mother. "It's a fun event. We really want this to be a positive thing for the girls and the team so they can make it to competition."

The events will be at the community center, 2905 E. North St. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the bull riding starting at 7 p.m. and the dance at 9 p.m.

Friday will include a performance by music group Flashback and Saturday by Clay Crockett and the Shotgun Riders.

Tickets can be purchased at First Victoria National Bank on Navarro Street, Dale's Fun Center, Cimarron Express or Junction.

Adult tickets are $10 pre-sale or $12 at the door. Children are $7 pre-sale and $8 at the door.
