Two drivers were transported by ambulance to Citizens Medical Center on Sunday after their vehicles collided on U.S. Highway 87.
Victoria and Lone Tree Volunteer Fire Departments, Highway Patrol and Victoria County Sheriff's Office responded to the two-vehicle accident about 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 87 and Farm-to-Market Road 2615.
Though details of the accident were still under investigation, Victoria Fire Lt. Gregory Najvar said Edward Ybarra, 36, driving a silver Pontiac Sunfire, was likely attempting to turn on U.S. 87 from FM 2615, and was struck by a northbound maroon Chevrolet HHR driven by Margaret Rubio, 38. The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the crash.
Ybarro and Rubio's injuries were reported to be non-life threatening.
