A 23-year-old Victoria man was arrested Sunday after fleeing from police first in a car, then on foot.
Kyle Peacock was charged with evading arrest in a vehicle and assault on a public servant following the pursuit, said Victoria Police Lt. Mike Tatum.
He was also charged on an outstanding warrant for parole violation. Additional charges also may be filed, Tatum said.
Tatum said a patrol officer was on the telephone talking to a woman about an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle about 6 p.m. when a car matching the description drove by, and the officer began pursuit in the Tanglewood area.
Peacock drove through several neighborhoods and eventually lost control of the car and hit a tree before running.
