What made you decide to go into psychiatry?
I have always been fascinated by the human brain and how it affects who we are, what we think, and how we behave. Helping people feel better and improve their quality of life is very rewarding and gratifying.
How do your services help Victorians and people in the Crossroads?
Unfortunately, there is still stigma about psychiatry, so there are still people who travel out of town for services. I am proud of the quality of services we offer, and we are extra sensitive to issues of confidentiality. Besides psychotherapy and medications, we now offer TMS Therapy, making Victoria a destination for "cutting edge" psychiatric care.
Why did you choose to practice in Victoria?
I was looking to come closer to family in Houston, but I did not want to live in a big city. I like that Victoria has a lot to offer, while still retaining the charm of a smaller city. You can't beat getting to work in less than 10 minutes.
