Deadline to register to vote for school district elections nears

The Victoria Independent School District is conducting an election on May 14 for trustees in districts one and three.

Those wishing to vote in this election must be registered voters of the trustee district. Voter registrations must be submitted no later than Thursday by 5 p.m.

Voters in any election must register with the county voter registrar. For the May 14 election, only voters within the trustee districts will be eligible to cast a ballot.

If you have moved to Victoria County, you must submit a new application to register to vote. If you have moved within the county, you must submit a change of voter registration to be eligible to vote in your new precinct. The deadline for submitting new applications or changes to voter registration is 30 days prior to an election.

You may submit an application in person at the Victoria County Elections Office, 111 N. Glass St. You may request an application be mailed to you by calling 361-576-0124.

Applications submitted by mail must be post marked no later than Thursday to be effective for this election. Applications received in the mail with a postmark after Thursday will be processed but will not be eligible to participate in the May 14th election.
