Victoria musicians to perform at Downtown Rhythms

Downtown Rhythms, an outdoor concert in its 15th year, takes place Thursday, April 28.  The  concert is free to the public.

The Victoria Symphony will host the Downtown Rhythms from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the corner of North and Main streets.

The free, outdoor concert is in its 15th year. Concert-goers will be able to listen to pops classics and hear local student ensembles.

Some local performers include the Victoria school district Orchestra Convert Club, Victoria West High School Band of Warriors Percussion Ensemble, Victoria College Jazz Combo, Calhoun County High School Jazz Ensemble, and O'Connor Rhythm Orchestra and Choir.

"Downtown Rhythms is a concert of great music in beautiful downtown Victoria and is a great source of community pride," Michelle E. Hall, executive director of the Victoria Symphony said.

Hall added that parents will be able to expose their children to symphonic music in a relaxed atmosphere.

This family-friendly event will include the symphony's Instrument Petting Zoo, and activity stations from the Children's Discovery Museum and Victoria Fire Department.
