Thirty three members and friends of Decora Study Club participated in the annual spring day trip on April 12. In keeping with the Texas Heritage theme, the bus trip was to historic Gruene on the upper Guadalupe River.

Exploring the variety of shops and restaurants in the old houses and buildings, built by the early German settlers using wood from the available mesquite and cypress trees to brick buildings of the turn of the century, provided an interesting day. Luncheon was by choice at the several restaurants scattered throughout the town. Snacks were provided by the social committee co-chairs Dee Skeete and Mary Jane Schurtz, assisted by Devanna West. Doreta Keith was the program committee member responsible for the planning of the trip and the bus.

The next meeting will be Tuesday at the Women's Club House with a program by Ruth Felty, of San Antonio, a former homemaking teacher. She is also a seamstress and quilter extraordinaire. Her program will be "Stitches of Love."
