Aligning with Gov. Rick Perry's Houston event, The Response: A call to prayer for a people in crisis, Cuero will host a similar prayer service for those who cannot attend the out-of-town event.

The Cuero Response: Pray for America, will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Gobbler Stadium. During the day however, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., churches and prayer tents will be set up around town for people to pray for the country, its leaders, and citizens. Some churches will remain open all day for people to pray.

A similar prayer service will be held at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Victoria, which is also hosting a prayer event Saturday

John Wesley's prayer service will be from 10 a.m to noon and is open to the public. There is no cost to attend.

Perry's The Response, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Reliant Stadium in Houston. There is no cost to attend Perry's event, but attendees must register online.
