Trials begin for Victoria-area men

Two trials are set to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Ronald Gene Hurst, 57, of Victoria, will face charges of sexual abuse of a child.
He is charged with one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child younger than 14 years of age, which is a first degree felony, between June 2009 and April 2010.
He also faces six counts of possession of child pornography, a third degree felony.
Hurst, who is represented by defense attorney Tali Villafranca, was indicted on the charges in March.
Additionally, trial will begin for Christopher George Vega, 29, who is charged with deadly conduct/discharging a firearm.
He was also indicted in March.
Vega is represented by defense attorney James R. Beeler.
The Victoria County District Attorney's Office will prosecute the cases.
