KAVU-TV, Time Warner enter into weeklong extension

Retransmission negotiations continue between KAVU-TV and Time Warner Cable but, meanwhile, Crossroads residents will maintain access to local newscasts.
The companies agreed to a weeklong extension regarding negotiations, Jeff Pryor, the Victoria Television Group's general manager, said Friday.
The new deadline is midnight, Dec. 9.
Time Warner originally planned to cease KAVU-TV and Newscenter 25 transmissions at midnight Wednesday, affecting subscribers in Cuero, Yoakum, Gonzales, Port O'Connor and Seadrift.
The companies entered into a one-day extension following that and, now, the current agreement.
Pryor said the added time allows both legal departments to work out contract details. He said he appreciates the fact that both entities have taken time to reach an agreement that is in the viewers' best interest.
