A man died about 3 a.m. Saturday in a one-vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market Road 616 in Bloomington.

Jesse Garza, 43, of Bloomington, was driving eastbound on the highway in a 2002 Ford Mustang when he merged into the left roadway and hit a drainage ditch, a Department of Public Safety official said Sunday.

Garza was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Bob Whitaker.

DPS Trooper Stephen Gray was assigned to the wreck.
