A Victoria man was transported to Citizens Medical Center at 10:48 p.m. Saturday after wrecking his Harley-Davidson motorcycle on North Ben Jordan and East North Street.

John Martinez, 58, was traveling northbound on North Ben Jordan in the inside lane when he struck a concrete median, Victoria Police Sgt. Lee Lemmons said Sunday.

"Alcohol does appear to be a factor," Lemmons said.

Martinez was in stable condition in a private room at Citizens Medical Center.

Lemmons said Martinez will be charged on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and transported to the jail upon discharge from the hospital.
