St. Peter's Lutheran Church will host to hold Christmas services

St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Ander will offer three worship services in celebration of the Christmas season.

There will be a Christmas Eve Candlelight service at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24. The service will include the Christmas story, according to the Gospels of Luke and John, music by St. Peter's choir and instrumentalists, the celebration of Holy Communion, and the singing of traditional Christmas hymns, including Silent Night by candlelight.

Worship on Sunday, Dec. 25, will begin at 9 a.m. and is titled "From Heaven Above: A Service for Christmas Day." The service will include a series of scripture readings around verses from Martin Luther's Christmas hymn, From Heaven Above.

A Service of Lessons and Carols for Christmas will be at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, the First Sunday of Christmas. The service, traditionally used during the 12 days of Christmas, includes seven scripture readings and seven Christmas hymns.

Members of the community are invited to attend these services. St. Peter's is at 1545 E. Farm-to-Market Road 1961 in the Ander Community.
