1. Why are you proud to be black?
"I am proud. I don't really look at black, white or Hispanic. I see us all as one people. I'm proud to be African American. I'm colorblind, so to speak."
2. Why is it important to recognize black history?
"I think it's important because Black History Month is important to everyone. Our kids are not aware of black history. In history books, when I was young, there was no black history. It's up to us to educate our kids about their culture and ancestors."
3. Who is your role model and why?
"I admire a lot of black leaders, but I would have to say Jesus Christ. We follow in his footsteps. When we follow in his footsteps, we don't separate by color."
