Musician Tim Hall knows first hand the need for cancer research.
Hall's wife, Jennifer, survived a battle with liver cancer three years ago, and the resident of Schulenburg now tries to give back when he can.
"It was a very difficult time," Hall said, noting early treatment of his wife's cancer was unsuccessful, but later treatments were effective. "Somehow the tumors shrunk, and against all odds she managed to survive."
The Tim Hall Band, together about seven years, will perform Saturday at Dodge City, 205 N. Star Drive, in Victoria with all proceeds being donated to the American Cancer Society.
The music - traditional country music with a touch of Texas style music, outlaw country, Top 20, some polka and rock - will start at 9:30 p.m.
The cover charge is $6, and the event will include a silent auction and a 50/50 drawing.
