Why are you proud to be black?
"I'm just glad. Everybody is good to me. All my kids are good to me. I have seven kids. Five girls and two boys."
Why is it important to recognize black history?
"It's important because Martin Luther King Jr. was for the colored people. All my kids are very proud of him."
Who is your role model and why?
"Everybody at the Texas Adult Health and Activity Center who have helped me. They care. They treat me with respect."
