An arctic cold front is expected to move into the Crossroads area Wednesday morning.

Highs of 50 degrees can be expected before 9 a.m., when the cold front will drop afternoon temperatures into the upper 30s, according to a forecaster with the National Weather Service.

The front will bring some showers, which are expected to move out of the area before freezing temperatures Thursday morning.

Residents can expect another hard freeze overnight, with temperatures dropping into the high 20s, the forecaster said.

Strong winds of 25 to 30 mph can also be expected Wednesday.

Thursday and Friday will bring temperatures in the 40s and 50s with calmer winds.

Things are expected to warm up by the weekend, the forecaster said.
