Man on trial charged with shaking, injuring his son

The trial of a Victoria man charged with injuring his son began Tuesday morning.
James Stephens Baldwin, 31, is charged with injury to a child, a first-degree felony.
Baldwin, who is being represented by attorney Timothy J. McCoy, is charged with shaking his then 7-week-old son in May 2009, leaving the boy with broken ribs and bleeding on the brain.
District Judge Robert Cheshire is presiding over the trial.
Assistant District Attorney Eli Garza is prosecuting the case.
The trial will reconvene at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
