If a wedding is in your future, the Pilot Club of Victoria's 21st annual Bridal Showcase is the place to be.
"This show provides people in this area with a real one -stop shop for wedding services," said Sandra Lewis, one of the event coordinators. "The vendors offer everything from catering, photography, flowers, to wedding dresses and so much more. If it has to do with weddings, we probably have a vendor at the show."
This year's show features 85 vendors, a record for the event.
The showcase will be from noon to 5 p,m. Sunday at the Victoria Community Center, 2905 E. North St. A fashion show begins at 2 p.m.
Providing fashions for the show are Al's Formal Wear, Kloesel's Cleaners & Formal Wear, New Beginnings and Jade & Madalynn Quinceanera Boutique.
The bridal showcase began in January 1991 at the Victoria Mall. As the event grew, it moved to the community center in 1995.
In addition to Lewis, event coordinators include Susan Riedesel and Margarette Clapsaddle.
The Pilot Club of Victoria, a member of Pilot International, was chartered in May 1948. The focus of Pilot International is to promote awareness of brain disorders and to improve the lives of those affected.
Locally, the Pilot Club organized an Anchor Club at Victoria High School in 1954. The club now serves both East and West high schools.
Another major project for the local club is Project Lifesaver that identifies Alzheimer's patients who might be wanderers and are provided a tiny wrist transmitter.
The club also offers support to several local organizations. It has two major fundraisers each year, the Bridal Showcase and the 46th Annual Spaghetti Supper that will be on March 5 at Howell School Cafeteria.
