Saddle up your inner art enthusiast and visit the Victoria Mall this weekend for a store full of Western world renditions.

More than 400 pieces of student Western-themed artwork will be on display Saturday and Sunday for the Houston Livestock Art Show.

The work was produced by hundreds of Victoria students from all grade levels and ranges from paintings to sculptures. All the work will be judged and the top pieces driven to Houston Saturday. The top winners in Houston will have their work auctioned for thousands of dollars and a shot at huge scholarship funds at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

"The money that's out there is unbelievable for those kids," said Candace Coyle, an art teacher at Torres Elementary School who coordinated the elementary entries.

The work will be on display from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday in the space where Gap was located.
