A three-year-old boy sustained minor injuries after being struck by a car at 7:45 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of H-E-B, 1505 E. Rio Grande St.
The driver of the vehicle was dropping off passengers at the front of the store and was not aware the child was getting out of the car, said Sgt. Phillip Barron, with the Victoria Police Department.
When the driver was pulling away, the car struck the boy's foot.
He sustained minor abrasions but was not transported to the hospital.
The boy appeared calm after the incident and wore a Victoria Fire Department plastic helmet while clinging to a teddy bear and police stickers provided by responders.
