Thomas Yantis was selected executive director of Keep Victoria Beautiful, the organization announced Tuesday.
Yantis assumed the role of interim executive director Dec. 15, when Joni Brown left for a job with Texas Mid-Coast's Contractor Safety Council in Port Lavaca. He had previously worked with the organization on multiple projects.
"I'm very happy with their decision and look forward to a lot of beneficial things to come for Keep Victoria Beautiful," he said.
In his new role, Yantis said he hopes to continue the organization's relationship with the city of Victoria and to see Keep Victoria Beautiful grow.
"It's a new year and a new director," he said. "A lot has been done to pave the way for this organization."
Yantis grew up north of Dallas and worked in the banking industry for several years. He later worked with a variety of volunteer organizations and has called Victoria home since 2005.
He said he believes his new job title will be a good fit.
"I feel this is a great step for me personally and professionally," Yantis said. "I'm excited."
