A bicyclist was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car at 12:50 p.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Loma Vista Avenue.

Mary Finehout, 77, of Victoria, who was driving a Chrysler 300, was pulling out of a parking lot behind Save-A-Lot when she struck the bicyclist, Ronnie Graham, 49, of Victoria. Graham was westbound on Loma Vista, said Officer Shane Wallace, with the Victoria Police Department.

Finehout got out of the car to check on the victim and left the scene, apparently assuming Graham was uninjured, Wallace said.

However, two witnesses took down her license plate number and police caught up with Finehout a few minutes later at Hungry's-Thirsty's, Wallace said.

She was issued citations for failure to yield and failure to report an accident.

Graham was taken to Citizens Medical Center where he was later released, a hospital spokesperson said.
