The Old Landmark Committee will host its 18th annual Martin Luther King Day parade on Monday.
"It's important for people to come participate because we're having children born every day that do not know about the struggle we went though," said Sandra Avery, president and founder of the Old Landmark Committee. "We fought very hard and we continue to fight even harder to let the children know what we went through so they didn't have to."
Immediately following the parade, a Martin Luther King Day program will commence at Webster Chapel United Methodist Church.
The program will feature five ministers, praise dancers, and performances, from local and visiting Gospel artists.
Food will be available for purchase.
"We would like everyone to come out if they are able," said Avery. "They won't regret it."
