The Friends of the Victoria Library will hold its January Book Sale Monday through Saturday in the Bronte Room in the Victoria Public Library, 302 N. Main St.

The sale is open to the public Monday through Friday during regular library hours and on Saturday until noon. Library hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. The library opens at 9 a.m. Saturday.

On Saturday, all remaining books will be sold at half the regular price. Saturday also features a $1 bag of books special.

The books included in the sale include fiction, non-fiction, children, home schooling, art, medical, textbooks, religion and many more genres. Movies and music are also on sale.

A pre-sale from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday will be held for Friends' members only. An annual membership can be purchased at that time.

Sale items have been donated to the library from citizens of Victoria County. Proceeds are used to buy books and other materials for the library as well as fund reading and enrichment programs.

The Crossroads Chapter of the American Red Cross, 2805 N. Navarro St., Suite 500, is conducting CPR training Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 361-573-2671 for more information.


In addition to the circulation desk inside the library, the Victoria Public Library has book drop locations next to the library on Main Street, in the Victoria Mall parking lot near Red Lobster and in the Victoria City-County Health Clinic parking lot at 2805 N. Navarro.
