A 5-year-old boy was hit by a truck on Sam Houston Drive when the boy attempted to cross the street on Friday night.
The boy, whose name was not released, was with his two sisters trying to cross from about Putt-Putt Golf and Games to the Family Dollar across the street, Victoria Police Officer Mark Hayden said.
A GMC Sierra, driving north on Sam Houston Drive, hit the boy, who stepped in front of the truck, Hayden said.
The boy and his sisters had been at SkateWorld, which is close to Putt-Putt, and decided to go grab some snacks, Hayden said.
The boy was transported to Citizens Medical Center for observations because of a bloody nose and aching head.
The boy's parents were notified. The driver of the truck was not at fault but was cited for expired stickers, Hayden said.
Sam Houston Drive, which is under construction, has been down to only one southbound and northbound lane for several weeks.
