The Cuero Livestock Show Board is bringing a Lester Meier Open Pro Rodeo to Cuero this weekend, July 15-16. For heart-stopping excitement with a hearty dose of old-fashioned family fun, few things top the annual rodeo. One of the top open professional rodeos in the state, the annual Open Professional Rodeo is anticipated each year by contestants and fans alike. The rodeo will be held at the Cuero Rodeo Arena and will start each night at 8 p.m.

Rodeo fans this year are sure to get plenty of "bang for their buck" when the chute gates swing open. The thrilling action will last about two hours as rodeo professionals from around the state and across the country compete for big jackpot money in rodeo staples like Bucking Broncos, Barrel Racing, and the continual crowd favorite, Bull Riding.

Pros from around the state make the rodeo a more enjoyable experience for everyone. There's the highspeed energy of the Lone Star Marshall Posse as they perform mounted precision drills, and the always hilarious antics of Darrell Tittman will keep the audience entertained and in stitches between events.

The sport of rodeo is only as strong as its livestock, and the Lester Meier Rodeo company rough stock is known throughout the state as double tough. Rightly so, because each head of stock had been handpicked for each performance by Mr. Meier himself. Equally devoted to providing quality roping stock, he insists that only top-qualified timekeepers and the latest, most up-to-date equipment is used. The Lester Meier Rodeo Company has been producing the best Open Pro Rodeos in the state of Texas for many years. This is a very special landmark for the company since they are celebrating their 38th anniversary in the rodeo business and still going strong.

"The 2011 season is shaping up to be an exciting wild ride for both fans and contestants alike," Meier said. "With our rodeos, you can always expect talented professional performances. But anytime you combine seasoned quality livestock with cowboys and cowgirls reaching for that record breaking ride, well, anything can and usually does happen."

With a full slate of roping, bull riding, bucking horses and barrel racing, the Annual Open Professional Rodeo is known throughout the state as one of the fastest, most colorful and action packed events of the rodeo season. So bring out the kids for the biggest entertainment weekend of the year: a wholesome, exciting, All-American event for the entire family that they won't forget.

Events for each night include: Bucking Broncos, Tie-down Roping, Breakaway Roping, Steer Dogging, Clown Act, Drill Team, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Team Roping, Mutton Busting and Calf Scramble.
