Head-on collision results in two transported to Citizens Medical Center

A Chevrolet Blazer, at right, driven by an unlicensed driver, failed to yield the right of way to a Chevrolet Suburban, left, at the intersection of Ben Jordan Street and Houston Highway, resulting in a head-on collision. Two people were taken to Citizens Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

A Chevrolet Blazer, at right, driven by an unlicensed driver, failed to yield the right of way to a Chevrolet Suburban, left, at the intersection of Ben Jordan Street and Houston Highway, resulting in a head-on collision. Two people were taken to Citizens Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.

A two-vehicle collision resulted in two people transported to Citizens Medical Center with minor injuries. Four other passengers were unharmed.

Unlicensed driver Clarissa Martinez, 18, of Victoria, was driving north on Ben Jordan Street when she attempted a left turn left on Houston Highway. She failed to yield to Betsy Salazar, 40, of Victoria, in a Chevy Suburban driving south on Ben Jordan, resulting in a head-on collision, according to Victoria police officer Brandon Allen.

Martinez and Salazar were transported to Citizens Medical Center.

The collision is under investigation.
