Placement of article was not appreciated

Editor, the Advocate:
On Memorial Day weekend, I opened my paper to read on the front page "Same Sex Marriage," and I was embarrassed and ashamed that this would come to our small communities as front page news.
As so rightly stated in the article by James Coburn in Victoria, recognizing same sex marriage conflicts with the laws in the state of Texas, and it does not conform to the social or spiritual values of the majority of the citizens in and around Victoria.
I cannot believe that this was news that should be on the front page of our paper and especially on a holiday weekend that should recognize real heroes of our great country. Please make our front page about "real news" and not about a personal choice that would not be beneficial to our communities. I believe our Victoria Advocate has more important things that matter to the majority of our people.
