Editor, the Advocate:
I recently read where the NFL owners and lawyers and player reps were going to try to decide how would be the best way to use $9 billion to provide a salary cap for rookies and benefits for retired players, as well as other items.
I find it hard to believe something like this will take place when our national debt is more than $2 trillion and our unemployment is about 9.5 percent with seven million people out of work.
I enjoy watching pro football on TV, but being frugal as I am would never pay the price to see a game in person.
I guess the bottom line in these two situations would be, "Only in America."
