Victoria will host a meeting Friday on the development of Interstate 69.

The I-69 Segment Three Committee will meet at 9:30 a.m. at 700 N. Main St., Room 204. The meeting is open to the public.

The committee is one of five regional citizen advisory groups meeting to help the Texas Department of Transportation plan projects along the route. Committee Three has jurisdiction from Harris County southward to Bee and Refugio counties.

Friday's meeting will include a discussion of projected traffic forecasts and crash data. The committee will also discuss future public involvement activities to encourage feedback from the public on the committee's ideas and recommendations. Public involvement activities are anticipated to begin this summer.

Members of I-69 Segment Committees represent metropolitan planning organizations, counties and other entities with an interest in transportation such as cities, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations and others.

Local representatives on the committee include Victoria County Judge Don Pozzi; Ray Miller, of the Victoria Metropolitan Planning Organization and the city of Victoria; Dale Fowler, of the Victoria Economic Development Corporation; and Tony Rigdon, of the Port of Victoria.

Representatives from Goliad, Jackson, Refugio and Wharton counties are also on the committee.
