THUMBS-UP

Thumbs-up to the Advocate for carrying financial adviser Dave Ramsey's column.

His radio show is great, and I really like his ideas on spending and saving money.

Mary Ann, Moulton

Thumbs-up to Diane Pfenninger for writing the letter about killing exotic species.

Reducing animal populations by culling herds, predator eradication as well as putting food on the table are all ways to "sport hunt."

While I congratulate the hunter's determination, seeing a dead zebra lessened the message for me.

Sally, Cuero

Thumbs-up to the Shields Sharks Relay for Life Team and the Mini Relay for Life.

Celia, Victoria

Thumbs-up: In reference to the article published March 23, I would like to congratulate Michael Zeplin for his award-winning Dendrobium orchid.

Mary A., Victoria

THUMBS-DOWN

Thumbs-down to our city council for approving the recycling project. That's all we need is another ugly container sitting in front of every home by the garage where everybody can see it from the street, which is a city code violation.

I do not recycle and never will.

Please do not implement this project until everybody learns to store these containers in the backyard where they cannot be seen.

Thank you, Mr. Hagan, for voting against it, looks like you are the only one that has any sense in that group.

Emilio, Victoria

Thumbs-down to the head coach for Victoria East varsity baseball team using several players for bench warming only, depriving them of their ability to improve.

Alfred, Victoria
