Best Buffet: Golden Corral

Golden Corral's variety of food and customer service makes it the top buffet in the region two years in a row and counting.

"I believe it's because we offer pleasurable dining at an affordable price," said Lonnie Ervin, the kitchen manager. "We're different than any of the other buffets because we also serve steak, shrimp and we have very high standards."

While the buffet is known for its staples - a massive salad bar, fruit, desserts and meat loaf - it's other dishes that seem to really lure customers.

The restaurant includes fried and bourbon chicken, roast beef, pizza, an assortment of seafood and meat and more. The steak buffet, which includes Brazilian steak this year for the first time, opens each day at 4 p.m. and remains so until closing.

"We've gotten 17 more wells, each which hold two to three more dishes," Ervin said.

"We now offer a much greater variety, more of a variety."
