Best professional photographer: L-Ann Imaging
Making people look good is all in a day's work for the staff at L-Ann Imaging, the company recognized as the Crossroads' best professional photographer.
The business got its start in 2000, said Laura Pollard, who owns the company with her husband, Randy Pollard. She said customer service is partly what helped her cinch the win.
"We're good at what we do," she said. "I'd like to say that's the reason. It's very exciting that people think that much of us to actually take time to vote."
Other offerings also help L-Ann Imaging stand apart from the rest, Pollard said.
For the Love of Mine, for instance, is a new program that offers women with breast cancer, who will soon undergo mastectomies, to take boudoir-type photos. The company is also a part of Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, a nationwide organization that offers photo shoots for families whose babies were stillborn.
The Pollards offer both services free of charge.
"They're giving up enough," she said. "I'm not digging into their pocketbook for that. I trust that God is going to put food on my table."
