Best Plumber: Ray Caraway

His plumbing shop might not boast a large, glowing sign advertising the business, but his work speaks for itself.

Ray Caraway, with Caraway Plumbing, was voted the Crossroads' best plumber.

Caraway, who has been in the business almost 28 years, said it felt nice to be recognized for his work. His business includes six trucks and 12 people.

"It makes you feel good, like you're doing something that makes sense," he said. "I appreciate it."

He attributed his win to the quality of work he and his employees put into a job. If a problem arises, the staff is quick to fix it, he said, explaining that letting it linger only means more problems in the future.

"The main thing, I think, is to be honest," he said of the way he runs his business. "No matter what it is, be truthful. The customers appreciate that."
