Best School Superintendent: Bob Moore

In a corner of Victoria superintendent Bob Moore's office is a bond election sign promoting the 2007 $159 million bond project. Stuck atop is a Caterpillar Inc. paper fan from the day the company broke ground in Victoria.

The simple display represents his major focus over the last six years: build smaller learning communities, get the community engaged in education and economic development will follow.

"I've seen that in every district I've been in if you improve the quality of education you improve the economic development," he said.

Moore has been with the school district since 2006 and involved in education for 41 years.

His secret to success is his team, he said.

"I always try to do what's best for kids, and try to build a team and a staff that will do what's best for kids," he said.

He has been named best superintendent for two years in a row.
