In its second year, the Warrior's Weekend muster has already sold out all its tickets, a sign that this year's event in Port O'Connor will be bigger and better than last year.

All tables have been sold and no more tickets will be sold for the Friday evening event at the Victoria Community Center, said Ron Kocian, Warrior's Weekend president.

The money is used to help raise funds for the Warrior's Weekend in May, which takes 250 to 300 wounded warriors on a weekend fishing trip in Port O'Connor.

This will be its fourth fishing trip, Kocian said.

"I'm scratching my head and I think we're a little overbooked," Kocian said laughing.

This year's big feature is an appearance by Glenn McDuffie, the kissing sailor from the well-known photo of a sailor kissing a woman on V-J Day in Times Square, Kocian said.

The sailor will autograph copies of the famous photo, which ran in Life Magazine.

"That's going to be the big unique thing," Kocian said.

Also part of the muster is a live auction, silent auction, a gun raffle and a rib-eye steak dinner.

Last year, the muster was almost sold out and the muster raised more than $100,000, however Kocian declined to say how much exactly.

This year's goal is to match or exceed that previous amount, he said.

Kocian said he expects more than 1,000 people attend.
