Rec Room column: City offers many events in May

The month of May is going to be a busy month. There is something happening every weekend.
If you want music, then come on down to Riverside Park on Saturday for Cinco de Mayo.
On May 28-29, Riverside Park will host the Memorial Day Festival.
Below is a listing of the events and registration dates for programs. If you are interested in any event or program, please call the Parks and Recreation at the number below for more information.
May 2-27 - Registration begins for adult summer softball and kickball leagues. Play begins June 13 at the Adult Softball Complex.
May 2-30 - Registration for girls summer high school fastpitch league. Play begins June 15 at the Youth Sports Complex.
May 7 - Cinco de Mayo celebration at Riverside Park.
May 7 - Texas Water Safari.
May 14 - Mid-Coast Family Services Family Festival at Riverside Park.
May 14 - Family Fishout, Ethel Lee Tracy Park. Fishing begins at 8 a.m. until noon; no fishing license required for this event.
May 21 - Market Days, Riverside Park, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
May 28-29 - Memorial Day Festival at Riverside Park.
If you are interested in 5K runs, then call us for several events in June.
Parks and Recreation and the Old Landmark Committee will team up to celebrate Juneteenth and Market Days on June 18. There will be music and fun for all.
