Donna Walentovic didn't expect to run into somebody like this.

Her Mitsubishi Outlander was hit by a 13-year-old bicyclist Tuesday at John Stockbauer Drive and Miori Lane.

"I just saw his shoes fly over the windshield and I thought, 'O my God, he's dead,'" the Victoria resident said.

Walentovic had a green light as she headed south on John Stockbauer Drive at 6:38 p.m., according to police officers at the scene. The boy ran a red light and slammed into the front, right side of Walentovic's vehicle.

Walentovic said the boy had scrapes on his forehead and right knee. The door, light, fender and windshield on the right side of her vehicle were damaged.

Police convinced the teen to go to Citizens Medical Center to be checked out.

After hitting her, the boy fell off his bicycle and landed in the street while his shoes flew upward.

Walentovic added that an officer told her that she wasn't at fault and had heard that the boy would be OK.
