Trial continues for man accused of killing passenger while driving drunk

Testimony continued on Wednesday in the murder trial of a Port Lavaca man accused of killing a woman in a motor vehicle accident in 2009.
Joe Cecilio Villarreal Jr., 46, is accused of fatally injuring 46-year-old Rosa Ramos Satterwhite in March 2009 when the truck she was riding in flipped off the overpass at U.S. Highway 87 in Placedo.
The defendant, who was driving the truck, was charged with driving while intoxicated.
The trial began on Tuesday.
He was indicted in the crime in March 2011.
Villarreal has two prior convictions for DWI, according to the indictment.
Assistant District Attorney Eddie Wilkinson is prosecuting the case.
Attorney Lee J. Lewis is representing Villarreal.
The trial is expected to resume at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
