The Victoria Parks and Recreation Department will host a free Family Fish Out at Ethel Lee Tracy Park pond on Saturday.
The pond will be stocked with channel catfish so fishermen of all ages will have an opportunity to reel in a fish.
A fishing license is not required for this event only. The requirement was waived by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Academy Sports and Outdoors is the exclusive sponsor of this year's Family Fish Out. There will be a limited number of rods and reels for loan, and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Participants will be divided in two age groups, 1-6 years and 7-12. Participants will compete for prizes in the following categories: longest catfish, smallest catfish, and most catfish.
Participants must be present to win any of the awards.
