The body of a man who went missing at Coleto Creek Reservoir late Friday night was recovered Sunday morning.
Goliad County Sheriff Kirby Brumby identified the man as 22-year-old Victoria resident Blaine Sullivan.
Sullivan was on a recreational boat at 10:20 p.m. Friday when it is thought he jumped overboard into a part of the reservoir about 30 feet deep, Brumby said.
The boat was near the park's boat ramp near a small island in the reservoir when Sullivan disappeared.
Two other men were with him on the inboard/outboard boat when the incident occurred, he said. Sullivan failed to surface, and emergency crews were called out to the scene.
The Department of Public Safety dive team, Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens and the Goliad County Sheriff's office conducted the search.
Coleto Creek Reservoir, which is just across the Goliad County line on U.S. 59, has 3,100 surface acres.
The Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1 of Goliad County sent Sullivan's body to Austin for an autopsy.
Brumby said it is unclear if other factors were involved in the boating accident. The investigation is ongoing.
The dive team from the Texas Department of Public Safety resumed its search at 5 a.m. Sunday, recovering Sullivan's body at 11:20 a.m., Kirby said.
