A helicopter with four passengers had to execute an emergency landing near Post Oak Estates in Inez Monday afternoon. None of the passengers were injured.

A private MD 500 helicopter made an emergency landing in Post Oak Estates neighborhood in Inez at 1:17 p.m. Monday, after pilot Scott Gee noticed an engine failure light come on.

Gee, departing from Victoria and bound for Houston, was carrying four passengers, Department of Public Safety Trooper Jeannie Slovacek said.

Slovacek said Gee was able to successfully land the helicopter in a large field away from homes. No one on board sustained injuries and the aircraft did not appear to have physical damage.

DPS and Victoria County Sheriff's Office responded to the emergency call.

The FAA was called to investigate the malfunction.
