Applications are being accepted in Victoria for the Affordable Housing Program Grant.

The grants are designed to assist low-income residents with minor home improvements or remodeling specifically targeted to making homes accessible to the elderly or disabled, according to a news release from the city of Victoria.

The first round of grant applications will be accepted from low-income residents who meet the criteria and also live in a high income neighborhood, as shown on the accompanying map.

All work will be completed by a licensed contractor and will be given a one year warranty.

The grant program is being conducted by the city of Victoria Development Services Department in conjunction with First Victoria National Bank and the Community Action Committee, according to the news release.

Applications are available at Development Services, 700 Main, Suite 115.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
