MOULTON - Eric Stephens, 53, of Arcadia, Ind. and James Stephens, 56, of Noblesville, Ind. were killed Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle wreck north of Moulton.

The wreck also injured Cory Odefey, 28, of Hallettsville, who was driving a truck.

Around 1:45 p.m., Odefey was driving south on state Highway 95. For unknown reasons, the truck entered the northbound lane, Wycoff said.

The truck struck a Mercury sedan carrying two people. They were uninjured.

The truck traveled farther into the opposite lane and hit a Pontiac van containing the Indiana men. The van's driver tried to avoid the collision, Wycoff said.

The left side of the van was crushed in, he said.

Justice of the Peace Travis Hill held an inquest. Eric Stephens was pronounced dead at 2:22 p.m. and James Stephens at 2:20 p.m.

Odefey was taken to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.

Traffic on the highway was reduced to one lane for several hours.

The Moulton Police Department assisted at the scene.
