Thumbs-up to Judie Farnsworth on her weekly column, "Zoo-ology."

Judie's abilities as a skilled and creative writer, combined with her vast knowledge of zoo animals, makes her column my favorite in The Advocate.

Cindy, Victoria

Thumbs-up to the Warrior Supply Company on the Houston Highway for the Christian messages they display on their business sign. God bless you guys.

Thumbs-up to those drivers who obey the legal speed limit on Loop 463 in the area between Airline and Salem Road.

Thumbs-up also to those officers who have been writing citations to those exceeding the speed limit.

Please consider being a safe driver in the upcoming holidays. A life is more important than your time folks.

The Rev. E. Dale, Victoria

Thumbs-down to the thief who came onto my property and stole the water heater, you are a thief who steals what is not yours. You may not answer to me, but you will to someone bigger one day.

Darlene, Victoria

Thumbs-up to the asteroid bigger than an aircraft carrier going between the Earth and the moon Tuesday.

Thumbs-up to the Living in the Light annual run in Riverside Park to raise funds for hospice care.

Thumbs-up to Ed Gregurek and Cliff Knezek for their work with the Victoria Master Gardeners center.

Thumbs-up to Matt Prokop, a Hollywood actor from Victoria, who filmed a Disney Channel Original Movie, "Geek Charming."

Thumbs-up to Beekeeper Kelly Ross for weathering the drought despite a significant loss of honey bees.

Thumbs-up to Loretta Postert, who developed oral cancer a year ago from smoking and now is spreading the message not to smoke.

Thumbs-up to to the Sea-Dan Ranches in Calhoun County, owned by John Welder, Kathleen Carey and Jane Robb, for signing on to the Wetland Reserve Program, part of the Natural Resources Conservation Service. The program will restore wetlands and keep them perpetuity while owners retain ownership.

Thumbs-down to all the fires in the area; and thumbs-down to the drought and lack of moisture.
