Eric Stephens, 53, of Arcadia, Ind., and James Stephens, 56, of Noblesville, Ind., were killed Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle wreck north of Moulton.

The wreck also injured Cory Odefey, 28, of Hallettsville, who was driving a truck. On Saturday, he was listed in stable condition.

Officials released the names of the deceased victims on Saturday.

Odefey was driving south on state Highway 95 about 1:45 p.m. Friday. For unknown reasons, the truck entered the northbound lane, said Department of Public Safety Trooper Craig Wycoff.

The truck hit a Pontiac Montana van, in which the two Indiana men were riding. The van's driver tried to avoid the collision, Wycoff said.

The left side of the van was crushed, he said.

Justice of the Peace Travis Hill conducted an inquest.

James Stephens was pronounced dead at 2:20 p.m., and Eric Stephens at 2:22 p.m. Both men were wearing seatbelts.

The wreck remains under investigation.
