Night in Old Pearl City fundraiser Saturday

YOAKUM - The annual Night in Old Pearl City celebration will be Saturday at Turner Hall on state Highway 111, six miles west of Yoakum.

Events include the Kristkindle Market, a German Christmas market, that opens at 10 a.m. Admission to the market is free.

Tours of historic sites in nearby Yoakum also are available from 1-3 p.m. at the Yoakum Heritage Museum, 312 Simpson St., and the Carl and Mary Welhausen Library (in the old power plant), 810 Front St., will be open.

Tours also include the Valentin Hoch Stagecoach Museum in Hochheim, five miles west of Pearl City from 4-5:30 p.m.

There is also a 3 p.m. Lutheran polka worship service at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Yoakum.

Doors for the dinner and dance at Turner Hall open at 5 p.m.

There will be door prizes, a silent auction and raffle as well as the dinner and dance with music by the Almost Patsy Cline Band.

Tickets for the dinner and dance are $20.

The event is sponsored by the Modern Dance Club No. 90, and proceeds benefit the Yoakum Food Pantry.
