The chief nursing officer in the DeTar Healthcare System received an award for her ongoing commitment to quality healthcare and operational excellence.
Sammie Drehr was honored with the Excellence in Leadership award in September through the Community Health Systems, one of the nation's leading systems of general acute-care hospitals.
DeTar is one of 130 hospitals in the system across 29 states.
Drehr has been with DeTar since 1992, when she started as the associate director of nursing. She was promoted to chief nursing officer in 2008.
"I'm so pleased to have received such an award and to share the honor with the entire nursing staff of the DeTar Healthcare System," Drehr said. "We are committed to the health and wellbeing of our patients. I'm very proud to be a part of the DeTar family."
Drehr takes part in quality and service initiatives, including inpatient and outpatient measure compliance and physician and employee and patient satisfaction.
